The team

The dentists who will treat you

Two dentists, named, with the training behind them set out in full. Most clinics advertising to foreign patients never get this specific — and a qualification that is never claimed is one you can never check.

Almost every dental tourism website describes an "expert team" and names nobody in it. That is not an oversight. A clinic that never names a dentist can change who treats you without telling you, and it never has to publish a credential that could be looked up.

Two dentists treat patients here. Both work across the full range of dentistry — neither is limited to one corner of it. Where they differ is in what each has gone deepest into: one holds a doctorate in prosthodontics, the discipline that governs whether a rebuilt bite lasts; the other has spent a decade concentrating on implant surgery.

Why two opinions matter in an implant case

An implant is a surgical problem and a prosthetic problem at the same time. Where it goes is decided by the bone available — but also by where the finished tooth has to end up, which is a prosthetic question, not a surgical one. Placed where the bone is easiest, an implant can be very difficult to restore well. Planned backwards from the tooth it has to carry, it takes longer to place and it lasts.

Both dentists see a case before surgery. That is slower than one person deciding alone at the chair, and it is the reason we ask for imaging before quoting rather than after it.

Dr. Dt. Mustafa Solmazgül

Founding dentist · Prosthodontics, doctorate

He treats across the full range of dentistry, from a single filling to full-arch rehabilitation. His doctorate is in prosthodontics — the discipline that rebuilds teeth which are worn, broken or missing, and that decides how the rebuilt bite will behave over the following decades. Almost every case shown on this site ends in it.

Dentist · Implant surgery and prosthetics

Implantology is the surgical half of most of the work shown on this site: judging whether bone will hold an implant, putting it where the finished tooth needs it rather than where it is easiest to place, and saying so when the honest answer is that it will not work.

The rest of the team

Treatment is the dentist’s work. Getting you here, keeping the schedule honest and answering you in your own language is not, and the people who do it are named too.

  • Nisa, patient relations and clinical communications coordinator at Clinova Dental in Cankaya, Ankara.

    Nisa

    Patient relations and clinical communications

Your first message reaches her, and she stays with the case until the treatment is finished. She books and moves the appointments, meets patients on arrival, and carries questions between you and the dentist rather than answering the clinical ones herself.

  • Yaren, dental assistant at Clinova Dental in Cankaya, Ankara.

    Yaren

    Dental assistant

She works chairside with the dentists. Before you sit down the room is prepared and the instruments are laid out; through the procedure she assists and watches for the pause you need rather than waiting to be asked for it; between patients the sterilisation cycle is hers.
