Dental Treatment in Türkiye: Your Questions Answered
The questions international patients ask most often, answered directly. If yours is not here, send it — we answer questions from people who have not yet decided to be treated with us, and there is no charge for that.
Planning and quotes
How do I get a treatment plan?
Send photographs of your teeth and, if you have one, a recent panoramic X-ray, by WhatsApp or through the contact form. Describe what bothers you and when you could travel. Within one working day you receive a written plan with the proposed treatment, alternatives considered, a day-by-day schedule and a fixed all-inclusive price.
Does a consultation cost anything?
No. Remote assessment, the written plan and the quote are free and carry no obligation. That includes a second opinion on a plan you have been given elsewhere.
Can you quote without an X-ray?
We can give a range, but not a price. Bone volume, root condition and hidden decay are invisible in a photograph, and they are exactly what determines the treatment. If you do not have a recent panoramic X-ray, most dental practices will take one inexpensively, or we take one on your first day and confirm the plan then.
What if the plan changes when I arrive?
We confirm every plan against imaging taken at the clinic on day one, precisely so that surprises happen before treatment rather than during it. If a finding changes the plan, we explain it, show you the imaging and re-quote — and you decide. Nothing beyond the agreed plan is carried out without a fresh agreement.
Travel and logistics
How many days do I need?
Whitening and bonding, one to two days. Crowns, five to seven. Veneers, five to eight. Dentures, seven to ten. Single implants, two trips of three to five and five to seven days. All-on-4, five to seven then seven to ten. Your plan gives exact dates before you book flights.
Do you arrange transfers and accommodation?
Airport transfers in Ankara are arranged by us and included. We can also book a hotel near the clinic at negotiated rates if you would like us to, or you can arrange your own. Flights you book yourself, which is almost always cheaper.
Which airport should I fly into?
Esenboğa Airport (ESB) in Ankara, roughly forty-five minutes from the clinic. It has direct connections to Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Amsterdam, Brussels and London among others. Flying via Istanbul is possible but adds a domestic connection and several hours.
Do I need a visa?
Citizens of most European countries do not require a visa for short tourist stays in Türkiye, but requirements change and depend on your nationality and passport validity. Check your own government's current guidance before booking flights.
Treatment and safety
Which implant systems do you use?
Established international brands with published long-term clinical data and worldwide component availability. That second point is what allows a dentist anywhere to service your implant in ten years. You receive an implant passport recording the system, diameter, length and lot number of every fixture placed.
Is treatment carried out by qualified dentists?
Yes. Treatment is provided by licensed dentists at a licensed polyclinic in Çankaya, Ankara, with laboratory work by dental technicians. You are welcome to ask who will treat you and what their background is before you travel, and we will tell you.
Is sedation available?
Yes, for patients with significant dental anxiety or for longer surgical procedures such as full-arch implant placement. Most treatment is comfortably carried out under local anaesthetic alone. If anxiety is a factor for you, say so at the planning stage so it can be arranged rather than improvised.
What are the risks?
Every dental procedure carries some. Implants can fail to integrate, particularly in smokers and in poorly controlled diabetes. Ceramic can fracture. Gums recede over years. Nerve injury is rare but possible in lower jaw surgery, which is precisely why we plan on 3D imaging. Your written plan lists the specific risks of your treatment, and we discuss them before consent rather than presenting them on a form to sign.
After treatment
What documentation do I take home?
Your radiographs and clinical records, an implant passport where implants were placed, documentation of the materials and shades used, and a written maintenance protocol addressed to your own dentist. All of it as standard, not on request.
Who looks after me when I get home?
Routine maintenance — cleaning, checks — is best done by a dentist near you, which is why we send you home with records they can act on. For anything specific to our work, contact us first; most questions are resolved by WhatsApp with a photograph, and we will speak to your local dentist directly where that helps.
What if something fails?
Contact us. Where a problem is attributable to our work we arrange the remedy, and the terms — what is covered, for how long, and what is required of you in maintenance — are set out in writing with your treatment plan rather than left as a verbal assurance. Where the cause lies elsewhere, we will still help you find the right solution locally.
How often should I be checked?
Every six months, with professional cleaning, wherever you live. This is not a formality: peri-implantitis and decay at crown margins are both detected early and treated simply, or detected late and treated by replacing the work. Six-monthly maintenance is the single strongest predictor of how long dental work lasts.
Still have a question?
Ask it directly on WhatsApp. You will get a straight answer from a person, whether or not you go on to be treated here.
