What determines the cost of dental implants in Türkiye

Implant quotes from Turkish clinics can differ by a factor of three for what looks like the same treatment. Here is what is actually inside those numbers.

Published

Ask five clinics in Türkiye for a price on a single dental implant and you can receive five numbers that differ by a factor of three. That is not because some clinics are generous and others greedy. It is because the quotes describe different treatments — and the differences are largely invisible unless you know which questions to ask.

The implant fixture itself

The largest single variable is the implant system. Established international brands with two or three decades of published clinical data, worldwide distribution and guaranteed component availability cost the clinic several times what an unbranded fixture costs. Some of that premium is brand, but a substantial part is the thing that matters to you in a decade: if you need an abutment replaced in 2038, your dentist at home has to be able to order the exact component. With an obscure system, they frequently cannot — and the remedy is removing an otherwise healthy implant.

Ask for the brand by name, and ask whether you will receive the lot numbers in writing. A clinic that will not name its implant system is telling you something.

Whether imaging is included

A cone-beam CT scan is not optional in implant dentistry — it is how the nerve canal, bone thickness and sinus position are established before a drill touches anything. Some quotes include it; some list it separately; some clinics do not take one at all and plan from a flat panoramic X-ray. The third option is the cheapest and the one you should avoid.

The crown on top

An implant quote that seems remarkably low is often quoting only the fixture, with the abutment and crown charged afterwards. Those two components can add half again to the total. When comparing, confirm the quote covers all three stages: fixture, abutment and final crown — and which material the crown is made from, since monolithic zirconia and layered ceramic sit at different price points.

Bone grafting

This is the most common source of surprise invoices in dental tourism. A patient is quoted for four implants, arrives, has a CT scan, and is told that a sinus lift is required at additional cost — while sitting in the chair, hours from a decision they can properly consider.

The honest approach is to establish it beforehand. A panoramic X-ray sent in advance shows enough for an experienced clinician to say “grafting is likely here” and price it in the plan, subject to confirmation on the CT. It will not always be exactly right, but it removes the ambush.

What else is inside a plan

Temporaries during healing. Follow-up appointments during your stay. Airport transfers. Your radiographs and records. The implant passport. Written aftercare. Remote review afterwards. None of these are expensive individually, but their presence or absence tells you how the clinic thinks about the treatment — as a procedure it performs, or as a result it is responsible for.

How to compare quotes properly

Build a simple table. For each quote, write down: implant brand, whether CBCT is included, whether abutment and crown are included, crown material, whether grafting is priced or conditional, number of follow-ups, what documentation you receive, and what the written remedy policy says. Then compare totals.

Very often two quotes that appeared to differ by a third turn out to be quoting quite different treatments. Occasionally the cheaper one is genuinely equivalent — and that is worth discovering too.

The number that actually matters

Cost per year of service, not cost today. A €900 implant that lasts twenty years is cheaper than a €500 implant that fails at year six and cannot be serviced because nobody can identify the system. That is not an argument for always choosing the most expensive quote; it is an argument for knowing what you are buying.

Send us photographs or a panoramic X-ray and we will produce a written plan and a fixed all-inclusive price within one working day — including a second opinion on any quote you already hold.

How health tourism in Türkiye actually works

Türkiye licenses clinics that treat international patients. Most patients never hear about it, which is a shame, because it is the single most useful thing to check before you book.

Start with a written plan, not a phone call

Send a photo or a panoramic X-ray and receive a treatment plan, a schedule and a fixed quote within one working day. No cost, no obligation.
