Almost every clinic in Türkiye that treats international patients offers a package: treatment, hotel, transfers, sometimes flights, quoted as one number. Packages are genuinely useful — arranging a hotel near a clinic in a city you do not know is a chore, and clinics get better rates than you will.
The problem is that the package framing moves your attention to the wrong place. You end up comparing hotel stars when the variable that will determine what your mouth looks like in ten years is somewhere else entirely.
The cheap parts are the ones being advertised
Four nights in a business hotel in Ankara or Istanbul, plus two airport transfers, costs the clinic a modest amount. It is included because it is inexpensive and it sounds generous. Nothing wrong with that — just do not let it carry weight in your comparison. If one clinic includes a hotel and another does not, that is a small difference you can price in ten minutes on a booking site.
The expensive parts, in the order they cost you
The implant or ceramic system. The single largest cost variable, and the most frequently vague item in a package. Get the brand in writing, and the lot numbers when you leave.
Imaging. A cone-beam CT is how the nerve canal, bone thickness and sinus position get established before anything is drilled. Some packages include it, some charge separately, and some clinics plan from a flat panoramic X-ray. If a package does not mention a CT for an implant case, ask why.
Anything the scan reveals. This is where package quotes most often come apart. If the CT shows insufficient bone, you need grafting or a sinus lift — commonly several hundred euros per site. It cannot honestly be quoted before the scan, which is exactly why a firm package price given before any imaging deserves a follow-up: what happens to this number if I need a graft?
The prosthetic stage. An implant quote that looks remarkably low is often quoting the fixture alone, with the abutment and crown billed later. Read whether the price is per implant or per finished tooth. They are different numbers for the same result.
Temporaries. Between preparation and final fit you need something to eat and speak with. Well-made temporaries are also where the shape and length of the final work get tested. Cheap ones are a false economy you will notice.
The second trip. Implants integrate over three to four months, so an implant case is normally two trips. Check whether the package covers the second stay or only the first, and whether flights are included in either.
Occlusion afterwards. When a lot of ceramic goes in, the bite needs adjusting once you have used it for a few days. If the plan has you flying home the morning after the final fit, there is no room for that adjustment. Ask for a rest day before departure.
Four questions that make a package comparable
Take any two quotes and ask each clinic the same four things. The answers will usually reorder your shortlist.
Is this price per implant or per finished tooth, and what does “finished” include?
What happens to the price if the CT shows I need bone grafting?
Does this cover both trips, and how many nights in each?
What is not in this price that a patient like me commonly ends up needing?
That last question is the most useful one in dental tourism, and the reaction to it tells you as much as the answer.
On packages that include flights
Some do. It is a real convenience, with one caveat worth knowing: a package flight is normally booked on fixed dates. If your treatment needs an extra day — an infection that needs settling, a graft that changes the plan, a bite that needs more adjustment — a fixed return ticket creates pressure to finish on schedule. That pressure is on the clinic as much as on you, and it is not the pressure you want in the room while somebody is deciding whether your ceramic is ready.
If flights are included, ask what happens if the treatment needs another day. If the answer is that the plan simply gets compressed, book your own flexible ticket instead.
What we do
We quote treatment, and we help with the rest without wrapping it into one number. Hotels near the clinic in Çankaya, at the rate the hotel gives us, booked in your name. Transfers arranged. Flights are yours to book, deliberately, so that a date can move if your mouth needs it to.
It looks less generous in a comparison table than an all-in figure. It means the number we give you is the number for the dentistry, and nothing in the plan is being decided by a return flight.
Send a photograph or a panoramic X-ray and we will send back a plan with line items — including the ones that might be needed but cannot be confirmed until we have seen a scan.
